Look at what a dumb marketing guy can do
*This post was written by Steve Hansen, mrc’s marketing director*
I just made a web application. It lists major league baseball batting statistics from 1970 to 2009, complete with a chart illustrating the rise in home runs over time. You can sort by all major offensive categories (with the arrows) and drill down within the application by year, division, and team by clicking on the little "+" icons. Additionally, you can filter the whole application by year or team by selecting any of options on the left and hitting "Run Report". There's a lot of data, but it's very easy to navigate.
Now, I don’t know a thing about programming, yet that application took me about 30 minutes to make: 15 minutes to import the data into m-Power and set up my table, and 15 minutes to create the application. For sake of full disclosure, it did take about 30 minutes to find the data online, then clean and sort it in Excel. All in all, there are about 45,000 rows of data in there.
This is only baseball data, which I made because I like baseball statistics. But the real story here is beyond the data. It could just as easily be your business data. And it could just as easily be you creating fancy applications in minutes.
So, I ask you: If a dumb marketing guy can create interactive web reports in 30 minutes, what’s your excuse?
I realize this may sound impossible, but I assure you it’s not. If you want to see the process for yourself, we’ll walk you through a demo from start to finish. Just fill out this form and let us know you want to see a demo. Otherwise, if you’d like to try m-Power for yourself, try the test drive.
