HTML5: Much more than just iPhone video

The talk surrounding HTML5 these days is largely focused on video thanks to Apple’s decision to not allow Adobe flash on the iPod, iPhone, or iPad. However, there is so much more to HTML5 than the ability to play video natively.

In fact, when you really begin looking at the enhancements in HTML5, you realize video playback probably isn't even the most important new feature. Those who work with HTML at all will stand to save a ton of time and be able to do things they could never do before using plain old HTML.

Over the next few weeks and months, we will publish a series of HTML5 tutorials that will help familiarize you with the coming HTML standard. We will walk you through the new features and enhancements and explain how you can use them in your web applications.

For starters, we've created an HTML5 Introduction article to help you understand exactly what HTML5 is, how it affects you, and what new features are included. You can find the HTML5 Introduction in our forums.
